Inside

An open living room with a stone feature wall and a large TV, and a fully equipped kitchen with granite counters, double ovens and room for a crowd to cook together. Downstairs there is a games room with arcade cabinets, a giant Connect Four and bean bags — it tends to be where the evening ends up.

Outside

The house sits inside the curve of a private pond that loops right around it, with wide open lawns and a covered dock out over the water and long views across the pines. There is a stone fire pit with bench seating by the water, a wrap-around porch with rocking chairs, a screened porch with an outdoor heater, a BBQ grill and life-size lawn games. Mornings come with mist on the water; the sunsets are what most guests remember.

    A short drive from Jacksonville International Airport, and close enough to Jacksonville itself for a day out, while still feeling a long way from anywhere.
